Most new home development is happening in Reno's southernmost part, the South Suburban area, between South Meadows Parkway and Mt. Rose Highway. New homes are also being erected in west Reno, at Somersett, the new master-planned golf community, as well as in the northwest and southeast regions. Dramatic residential changes are happening downtown, with at least ten condominium projects planned or under way—The Palladio, Belvedere Towers, Residences at Riverwalk Towers and North River Place, for example.
The median home price in Reno at the end of the first quarter was $344,500, for a condo, it was $185,000. Reno has several attractions, including the Truckee River Whitewater Park, the Nevada Art Museum, Animal Ark wildlife sanctuary and the National Automobile Museum. The city also offers robust arts and culture, all kinds of entertainment and a full calendar of community events.
